The Lemoore Police Department may have tied a pair of brazen burglars to at least five burglaries occurring in new subdivisions currently under construction. Property taken in the thefts included stoves, ranges, refrigerators, air conditioning, and heating parts, microwaves, ovens, and other appliances.

It was on Tuesday, January 28, that Lemoore patrol officers were dispatched to a Lemoore subdivision currently under construction. They were looking for a suspicious white van slowing driving through the neighborhood.

Officers located the van and attempted an enforcement stop, but the van and its driver fled from the officers. After a short pursuit, the van pulled over, and officers arrested two subjects: the driver, Guillermo Aguilar, 36, and the passenger, Jesus Gonzalez, 42, both of Fresno.

Officers saw in the van what they believed were brand new home appliances. During the officers’ investigation, they spoke with the construction site management team that reported the possible burglary. Later, another manager from a different subdivision reported burglaries in two of its homes, also currently under construction.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the van occupied by the suspects, Aguilar, and Gonzalez. A search of the van revealed the suspected stolen appliances from the reported burglaries. Some of the appliances were still inside their original packages.

The suspects, Aguilar and Gonzalez, were arrested, transported and booked at the Kings County Jail on two counts of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, evading a peace officer and the possession of the stolen property. Both had their bail set at $175,000.

During the investigation, police discovered the two suspects used a white 2005 Ford Econoline van, missing a rear passenger hub cap and with a front LED light affixed to the front grille. This van has rear windows to the rear of the cargo area. Police also suspect they used a gold 2001 Acura MDX SUV to transport stolen property.

The Lemoore Police Department continues to investigate reported burglaries in new subdivisions. Commonly reported stolen are stoves, ranges, refrigerators, A/C and heating parts, microwaves, ovens, and other appliances. Lemoore detectives say they have tied the suspects to five burglaries starting in October 2019.

Detectives also believe there may be other unreported burglaries within the City of Lemoore and other new subdivisions in neighboring cities. If anyone has or needs any information regarding these burglaries, please call Detective Corporal Maldonado (559) 924-9574.
