A Lemoore police officer early Monday morning (April 13), at about 1:40 a.m., spotted a white Honda Accord driving without its lights near West D and West Bush streets. The patrol officer followed the suspected vehicle as the driver increased its speed.

The suspect, 25-year-old Miguel Angel Mares, of Hanford, ran a red light at the intersection of 19th Ave. and W Bush St, prompting a pursuit. The Honda’s driver stopped near the 1300 block of S. 19th Avenue and left his vehicle, refusing to comply with Lemoore police officers. After a short struggle, the driver was taken into custody.

Police arrested Mares and booked him into the Kings County Jail on numerous charges, including evading police, DUI, driving on a suspended license, and resisting/obstructing/delaying an officer. His bail was set at $50,000.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
