A routine patrol at the Yokut Gas Station adjacent to the Tachi Palace on Sunday, May 3, resulted in the arrest of a pair of suspects in possession of a stolen vehicle. The incident occurred at about 11:40 p.m. on May 3, when the deputy, patrolling near the gas station,  watched a car drive into the parking lot absent its license plates.

The deputy was about to conduct a traffic enforcement stop when the driver of the 1994 Acura Integra pulled into a parking stall. The driver and suspect, later identified as Gary Jennings, exited the car and opened the hood as if he were having an issue with the vehicle.

The deputy stopped and spoke with Jennings Gary and his passenger, Lisa Sharer. The deputy ran a records check and learned that Jennings had an outstanding Kern County warrant for $65,000.00. Jennings volunteered that he also had a parole hold warrant issued for his arrest.

The deputy arrested Gary and, during a search, found a metal key, a key typically used by locksmiths to get into locked vehicles. The deputy ran a check, and it revealed that the Acura was stolen in Tulare.

While speaking with the deputy, Jennings admitted purchasing the car from an "Offer Up" website without a key for $500. Jennings admitted that he thought the vehicle was stolen.

During the investigation, the deputy discovered the female suspect, Sharer, had methamphetamine, and a smoking device.  The deputy arrested her and then released Sharer with a citation.

The deputy booked Jennings into the Kings County Jail, and later released due to the $0 bail schedule.
