Lemoore cop, while on patrol, notices equipment violation, makes narcotics arrest

A Lemoore police officer, while patrolling on South 19 ½ Ave. made a traffic enforcement stop after noticing an equipment violation.

The officer later determined that the driver, later identified as a 35-year-old suspect David Nunes, of Lemoore, was in possession of illegal narcotics.

The officer also determined that the suspect was unlicensed, and he is currently on parole.

A 35-year-old passenger, Lauren Olaes, of Lemoore, was also in the car. 

A detailed search of the suspect’s vehicle turned up a loaded firearm, narcotics paraphernalia, and additional illegal narcotics, including methamphetamine. Further investigation revealed Nunes was a convicted felon, and he was prohibited from possessing firearm or ammunition.

The firearm recovered was unregistered. Olaes was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia as well. 

Nunes was charged with several felonies, including possession of a firearm by a felon, a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, carrying a firearm concealed in a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance for sale, a parole hold, and transportation of a controlled substance for sale.

Nunes had his bail set at $245,000. The passenger, Olaes, was issued a citation for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia possession.
