Lemoore police officers arrest local suspect on charges of domestic violence

Lemoore police officers, on Saturday, December 5, at approximately 3 p.m., arrested a domestic violence suspect after the victim appeared at the Lemoore Police Department and told police that the suspect, 31-year-old Lemoore Rico Robert Delavega, may have abused and threatened her.

After interviewing the victim, officers learned that the 31-year-old suspect, Delavega, physically abused the victim, threatened the victim with firearms, and threatened to kill the victim.

Officers responded to Delavega’s residence in the city of Lemoore.  After a short stand-off, Delavega exited his residence, and police took the suspect into custody without incident.  Officers searched the residence and located three assault rifles with illegal modifications, two handguns with one having illegal modifications, numerous high-capacity magazines, and 2,400 rounds of ammunition.

Police booked the suspect into Kings County Jail on suspicion of attempted homicide, domestic violence, criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of assault weapon, firearm with a multi-burst trigger, and large-capacity magazines, and failure to store weapons away from children.  Delavega’s bail was set at $1,030,000.
