Lemoore police officer makes arrest after finding narcotics during vehicle stop

It was on December 25, at about 10:40 p.m., that a Lemoore Police Department officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Houston Ave and 17th Ave. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 34-year-old, Sergio Hugo Jauregui Jr., of Hanford was suspected of driving under the influence and was asked to step out of his vehicle.

According to a police report, Jauregui Jr. had his hands in his pockets and refused to take them out when the officer asked him to do so. The officer removed Jauregui Jr.’s hands from his pockets and discovered a loaded semi-automatic pistol.

The police officer took Jauregui Jr. into custody without incident. Officers searched Jauregui Jr.’s vehicle and located narcotics. 

Police booked Jauregui Jr. into the Kings County Jail for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, DUI, and other weapon and narcotics law violations. Jauregui Jr’s bail was set at $90,000.
