Lemoore baseball team moves up in WYL with convincing 9-3 victory at Hanford
Lemoore will face Hanford for a final time on Tuesday, June 1 at Lemoore at 4:15 p.m.
In Wednesday’s game at Hanford, the Tigers collected a total of seven hits on the day, including a pair of hits from Isaiah Gonzalez, who also drove in a pair of runs. He also scored twice.
Senior Anthony Murrieta pitched five innings, walked a pair of Bullpups, and struck out six while walking just two.
The Bullpups took the early lead by scoring three times to take a 3-0 lead in the third inning. The Tigers shut down the Bullpups the rest of the way while scoring twice in the fourth, one in the fifth and sixth innings and five more in the seventh.
El Diamante currently leads the WYL with a near-perfect 7-1 mark. Redwood holds on to the No. 2 spot at 6-2, while Lemoore is in third at 4-4. Hanford is 3-5 in the standings, while Mt. Whitney and Golden West round out the top six.
