Kings County Deputies were dispatched to the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino to investigate a suspected theft on Tuesday, May 11, at about 11:30 a.m.

On arrival, deputies determined that a suspect, Anthony Barker, may have stolen internal components from the inside of a slot machine, valued at $2,500, and then left the area.

A records’ check of the suspect revealed he had a No Bail Warrant issued for his arrest for violating the terms and conditions of his parole. Barker is also a registered gang member with a criminal history that includes weapons possession and assault.A short time later, at about 2:45 p.m., Tachi Palace Security reported that Anthony returned to the Casino, and security officials attempted to contact Barker. Still, he managed to flee and ran toward the Tachi-Yokut Rancheria.

Deputies, along with Tribal Security, searched the area where they last saw Barker. He was spotted jumping fences and running through the yards of several residences in the residential area. Deputies closed in on Barker as he was seen entering a fifth-wheel trailer located in the front yard of a residence.

The trailer’s owner informed deputies that no one should have been in the trailer. The owner provided the keys, and deputies surrounded the locked trailer. Barker was ordered to exit but refused to do so. Kings County K-9 Deputy Bluz was utilized to search the trailer and assist in locating Barker, who was ultimately found hiding in an elevated bunk bed. Barker became combative and resisted arrest resulting in K-9 Bluz being called to assist in subduing Anthony and allowing deputies to place him into handcuffs.

The suspect, Anthony, was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained during the arrest. He was treated and released. Deputies booked Anthony into the Kings County Jail for resisting an executive officer, trespassing, and the No Bail Warrant for a Parole violation. His bail was set at $75,000.00.
