Lemoore police arrest suspect making threats and shooting weapon

Lemoore Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on North Lemoore Avenue on July 21 at approximately 11:30 p.m. to investigate a report that a male suspect was making criminal threats and shooting a gun into the air.

Soon after officers arrived on the scene, the male opened the overhead garage door and was heard chambering a round into a semi-automatic pistol. Lemoore officers contacted the male, and he complied with officers’ commands.

The suspect was detained without further incident, and a loaded pistol was located nearby.

Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Caleb Alexander Corkill of Lemoore. As officers investigated the incident,  they learned that Corkill threw an explosive device at a neighbor’s vehicle. The suspect, Corkill, is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms. 

Police arrested Corkill and booked him into the Kings County Jail, charging him with making criminal threats, possessing a destructive device, exploding or igniting a destructive device, felon in possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon. Corkill’s bail was set at $95,000.
