Playoffs open tonight (Feb. 15) at home for Tiger hoopsters while soccer team playoffs begin Wednesday

Lemoore’s varsity boys’ basketball team goes into tonight’s Division II playoffs as the bracket’s No. 3 ranked team, thanks to its impressive 17-9 overall record and 9-3 West Yosemite League mark. The Tigers will take on the No. 14 ranked Frontier Titans (12-12) from Bakersfield tonight at 6 p.m. in the Lemoore High School Event Center.

Should Lemoore defeat Frontier it will host a second-round game against the winner of Arroyo Grande and Hoover High School.

Atop the Division is the WYL’s Mt. Whitney Pioneers who play Righetti High School tonight in Visalia. Lemoore defeated the Pioneers 55-51 in a Feb. 8 contest in Visalia.

Lemoore’s boys’ soccer team, ranked No. 12 in Division 3, at 13-8-2, will travel to Madera South (No. 5) to take on the Stallions in the first round of the Division III playoffs on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. at Madera South. The Stallions were 11-10-2 on the year.
