Deputy chases down erratic driver as suspect tried to evade cops

The deputy made a U-turn and attempted to chase and stop the Nissan driver. The driver, later identified as Aaliyah Sanchez, refused to pull over and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit lasted several miles. The suspect, Sanchez, drove into the oncoming lane, failed to stop at numerous stop signs, and reached speeds up to 90 miles per hour. An assisting deputy deployed Stop Sticks, and tire deflation devices, at the intersection of 17th Avenue and Iona Avenue.
The suspect drove over the Stop Sticks, and the tires on the Nissan began to deflate.
Sanchez continued to flee despite the state of the vehicle’s tires. She ultimately fled west on Iona toward the City of Lemoore. Aaliyah lost control of the Nissan on Iona Avenue and drove into a dirt field and was taken into custody.
During an interview, Sanchez told authorities she did not see the red and blue lights from the patrol car due to the emergency lights not being bright enough.
Deputies reported that they could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the suspect and a Lemoore officer, who was assisting, conducted a DUI evaluation. The officer determined Sanchez was driving under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect was booked into the Kings County Jail on charges of evading a peace officer, evading a peace officer while being a wrong-way driver, and DUI. Her bail was set at $40,000 and she was released.
