Kings County deputies arrest Stratford man in shooting death

On Thursday, December 8, Kings County Deputies received a 911 phone call but discovered that the line was silent. Kings County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch operators called back and spoke to someone who stated that a male had been shot after an argument with another person.

The caller also stated said he or she believed the male was dead.

 Once on the scene, deputies entered the residence on Main Street in Stratford and found a deceased male with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Deputies spoke to all parties on the scene. They learned the victim (Identified as Gabriel Adolfo Felix Sosa) had possibly been in an argument with a family member and that the family member was suspected of shooting and killing Gabriel Sosa.

Detectives took over the investigation and spoke with witnesses. Detectives learned the suspect (Identified as Diego Noel Montoya Sosa) is suspected of shooting the victim at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7.

Detectives also learned that  Diego Sosa is suspected of holding Gabriel’s girlfriend and two children hostage until about 5 a.m. on December 8.

Diego Sosa told the witness and her kids that he wanted law enforcement to show up, and he moved the children toward a window. He told the children to stand by the window so that when law enforcement arrived, they would shoot them.

Diego Sosa eventually left the residence without harming the witness or the children.

 As detectives continued investigating, Diego Sosa surrendered himself at the Kings County Jail.

Deputies interviewed him and then booked the suspect into the Kings County Jail on charges of PC 187 – Homicide, PC 207 – Kidnapping, PC 236 – False Imprisonment, and PC 273A(A) – Child Endangerment. His bail is currently set at two million dollars.
