Lemoore varsity boys' begin CIF Division 2 basketball playoffs as No. 1 seed with home game. Lady Tigers No. 7 in Div. 3 and are also home this week
Central Section playoff brackets were announced late Saturday, Feb. 11. The Tiger boys were selected as the Division II No. 1 seed and will take on No. 16 Sunnyside in a home game on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Lemoore High School Event Center.
On the girls' side, Lemoore's Lady Tigers are ranked No. 7 in the Division III CIF basketball rankings and will host Morro Bay in a first-round playoff game scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 14 in Lemoore.
The Lemoore boys, assuming they get past Sunnyside, will host the winner of the El Diamante and Ridgeview contest on Friday, Feb. 17. The Lemoore ladies will play the winner of the No. 2 Porterville and No. 15 Hanford West game.
Leading the Tigers' in their latest win against Hanford were Demel Turner with 15 points and Ty Chambers who tossed in 12 for the WYL title game.
Lemoore’s varsity girls finished their season on a sour note, dropping the season finale to Hanford, 64-42, following league victories over Dinuba (49-43) and Tulare Western (51-48).
The Lemoore ladies finished at 5-5 in the WYL and were 14-12 overall.
