On Sept. 25, at about 11:14 a.m., the Lemoore Police Department – in coordination with Lemoore Elementary School staff – conducted a lockdown drill on campus which turned into an actual lockdown.
Only minutes after the drill was completed, school officials received a phone call from an unknown male stating that he would “shoot up the school.” Out of extreme caution, the school’s staff and the police department conducted an actual lockdown while investigating and evaluating the threat's credibility.
Lemoore Police Department detectives quickly identified the caller and located him in Fresno with the assistance of the Fresno Police Department. The suspect, said police officials, was a juvenile, and his identity will not be shared.
He was arrested and booked at the Kings County Juvenile Detention Center for making criminal threats.
