Tigers pound Trailblazers 57-31, host Mt. Whitney Pioneers in Homecoming game
The Tigers, who will host the Pioneers Oct. 18 in their Homecoming game fell behind early when Blazer quarterback Quadre Ford connected Sheldon White for a 53-yard touchdown and the early advantage. Lemoore countered with, who else, Doctor, and he scored the Tigers first four touchdowns, including the initial score. The Tigers finally took the lead late in the first half on Doctor’s fourth TD, a 32-yard run into the end zone.
The Tigers got the ball back on a punt and Lemoore’s Roger Wilson returned it for a 52-yard touchdown just moments before the end of the first half.
Rashaun Davis scored a touchdown in the third period on an eight-yard run to expand Lemoore’s lead and Doctor added two more touchdowns in the final stanza as Lemoore improved to 2-1 in the WYL and 5-2 overall. Golden West fell to 1-5 and 0-2 in league play.
Lemoore’s Homecoming opponent, Mt. Whitney, is struggling this year. They come into Friday’s game with a 1-5 mark and are 1-2 in the WYL. The Pioneers beat up on a stunned Hanford West team Friday night 49-27.
Doctor continues his assault on the school and Central Section rushing records. His 309 yards Friday night left him with 1,879 on the season, easily leading the Central Section and the state stats. His 27 total touchdowns also leads the valley.
