Tigers pound Trailblazers 57-31, host Mt. Whitney Pioneers in Homecoming game

Lemoore’s varsity football team got a good jump on Friday’s Homecoming game against Mt. Whitney with a 57-31 West Yosemite League win against Golden West in Visalia. Once again, senior tailback Richard Doctor led the charge with six touchdowns and 309 yards rushing as Lemoore broke open what had been a close first half contest into somewhat of a rout in the second half.

The Tigers, who will host the Pioneers Oct. 18 in their Homecoming game fell behind early when Blazer quarterback Quadre Ford connected Sheldon White for a 53-yard touchdown and the early advantage. Lemoore countered with, who else, Doctor, and he scored the Tigers first four touchdowns, including the initial score. The Tigers finally took the lead late in the first half on Doctor’s fourth TD, a 32-yard run into the end zone.
