Much of Lemoore turns out for Lemoore Kids Day at Youth Sports Complex on Saturday
Youth Day visitors got their fill of soccer but there were also plenty of games, food and fun for everybody, ranging from ring tosses to bounce houses. This year’s Youth Kids’ Day organizer, Susan Mattos said it was all worth it.
“It’s just a place where kids can come and there’s no burden on the parents to be able to pay anything. It’s all free. Free carnival games, free face painting, free bounce houses,” said Mattos. “It just a free fun day for the kids.”
Mattos estimates this may be one of the biggest turnouts ever at the Youth Sports Complex. “I would estimate about 4,000 showed up today,” she said. “It’s just not for the soccer players, this is for the public. We have games that start at 8 a.m. and go until 2 p.m. It’s for the whole day.”
Mattos added that there will be a major raffle at 2 p.m. and organizers will be throwing out free t-shirts at the end.
Others had fun as well. “We were at a soccer game this morning and once it was over I had no choice I came over here, said Toni Martinez who was there with her daughter. “My daughter had a blast, she had her face painted and she did the jump house and she’s still going,” said Toni Martinez.
The Youth Day got plenty of help from sponsors. Those helping to sponsor the youth day were Maria’s Jewelers, Gunny’s Sandwich Shop, Lemoore Animal Clinic, Amy Coeler, DDS, Artistic Design, Foster’s Freeze, Harris Ranch, Hanford Toyota, Liberty Chevrolet, King Kone, Garcia Sports Photography, McCann & Sons Truck and Tractor, Mattos Small Engine Repair, Ethel Red’s Chop House, Myer’s Well Drilling, California Print Wear, Wow Balls, Subway, Lemoore Donut, Lambert Enterprises, Kings Veterinary, Leprino, K&H Food and Gas.
