Tigers on baseball winning streak as they enter West Yosemite League play Tuesday

The Tigers won their fourth non-league contest in a row, easily getting past Fowler High School Friday afternoon twice, both times by the same score of 8-4. In the second game Lemoore scored five times in the fourth inning to take an 8-2 lead and then coasted to its eighth win in 13 games.

Austin Murrieta got the win for Lemoore while Nate Corona had a hot day at the plate, going three for four with two runs scored, two RBI and two triples. Grant Farris had a double and scored twice for Lemoore.

Lemoore opens West Yosemite League play with a Tuesday game at Hanford West High School at 4;15 p.m.

Lemoore’s varsity baseball team used some solid pitching and clutch hitting to sweep a double-header Tuesday night at the Tiger baseball diamond. The Tigers won the opener 8-1 and completed the sweep with a 6-5 victory over Washington Union.

Lemoore improved to 6-5 on the young season.

In the nightcap Lemoore scored three times in the first , twice in the third and brought one run across the plate and then held on to beat the Panthers. Grant Farris and Isaiah Rodríguez each had two hits for the Tigers.

Keola Young went five innings for the Tigers and gave up just three hits and four runs. He walked five and struck out 4.

In the afternoon game Jayden Hunt threw six solid innings to earn the win. Hunt gave up six hits, walked just one and struck out six as Lemoore beat the Panthers 8-1.

Matt Cole was three for four with an RBI while Nate Corona went two for four in the game. Austin Murrieta drove home a pair of runs for the Tigers.
