Lemoore's Michael Burke top athlete at Golden West Track Invitational
Burke won the high jump with a leap of 6-6 and then won the triple jump with a leap of 42-3.25. While not among the top three in the pole vault, he turned in a respectable vault of 9-0. He also managed a sixth place finish in the long jump.
In the girls’ division, Lemoore’s top track athlete, Kiesha Loftin, won the 300 hurdles and took second in the 100 meter hurdles. Loftin had the top time of 48.09 in the 300 hurdles and barely lost out in two wins with a second place time of 16.67 in the 10 meters.
In other top finishes Justin Martin was second in the triple jump behind Burke with a leap of 41-0.25 while Zachary Frazier took third in the shot-put with a toss of 43-7. He also fare well in the discus with a throw of 110-08.
Lemoore finished with 64 points to finish well behind eventual champion Stockdale’s 118 points. Lemoore’s girls wound up eighth overall with 30 points. The top finisher was Mt. Whitney with 122.5 points.
In other results Marquise Love was fourth in the 400-meter dash while Mario Gonzalez was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles. The boys’ 4 by 100-meter relay team took third with a 45.48 clocking and the 4 by 400 relay team was seventh in 3:57.22.
