Lemoore Police and Gang Task Force team up to investigate shots fired

Lemoore police officers were dispatched to the area of Faun Drive and N. Lemoore Avenue on March 27 at about 8 p.m. for a call of gunshots fired from a vehicle. A white Honda and a dark Honda were reported to be involved in the shooting but had left before officers arrived.

Officers contacted residents in the area. An argument was heard prior to the shooting. Several shell casings were located in the street. While the officers were still on scene, a witness reported that a white vehicle that may have been involved had returned and was now parked in front of nearby apartment.

Officers went to the apartment to look for victims or suspects. The resident, 19 year old Geneva Arreguin, came out and was interviewed by Gang Task Force investigators. She stated there was no one else in the apartment. She then went back inside and came out with another female subject and was now carrying a baby and a diaper bag.

She went to a vehicle and was re-contacted regarding the discrepancy in her story about who was in the apartment. During this second contact she consented to a search of the vehicle she was in and a .22 caliber pistol was located in the diaper bag she had brought out of the apartment. The pistol was stolen out of Corcoran.

Two other subjects, a juvenile and an adult male who are suspected Norteno gang members, came out of the apartment. All the parties contacted denied any involvement in the initial shots fired call for service. No witnesses could identify them as being involved.

Arreguin was arrested for charges related to carrying a loaded and stolen firearm in public and a gang enhancement. She was booked at the Kings County Jail and her bail was set at $90,000.
