The Lemoore Chamber of Commerce’s 14th Annual Central Valley Pizza Festival is but a few days away as it kicks off on Friday, April 11and will continue through Sunday, April 13. The 14th annual Lemoore Central Valley Pizza Festival promises to serve up good fun, entertainment, and of course good food – including maybe a pizza or two.

The place to be is at the Lemoore City Park located at 350 West Bush Street, between Heinlen and Fox Streets.

Pizza is symbolic of the Central Valley’s agricultural industry and Lemoore’s major industry, Leprino Foods, which operates the world’s largest mozzarella plant here in Lemoore. Leprino has been a major sponsor of the Festival since its inception in 2001.

The Festival begins at 5 p.m. on April 11 with food and craft vendors, beer and wine garden for adults and the popular Bobbie Lagoon Bungee Jump and Bounce Houses, hopefully to entertain kids of all ages. There will also be dancing that night from 7-10 p.m. to the local band “Mussel Slough.”

On Saturday the Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) is sponsoring the annual giant pizza contest. Sixteen teams will compete for cash prizes. Each team will be provided with a pizza wedge pan and a ball of dough provided by Boston House of Pizza. Judging will be based on team spirit, originality, effort, execution and the final product.

More entertainment is scheduled for the weekend. In addition to the giant pizza there is plenty of music and entertainment on hand.

Hours of the Festival are as follows:

Friday the 11th: 5pm-10pm

Saturday the 12th: 10am-10pm

Sunday the 13th: Noon-5pm

Other major sponsors are Comcast Business and Sequoia Beverage Company.
