Kings Sheriff's Deputies get help in capturing a burglary suspect attempting to elude

Following an extensive search, Kings County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended a suspected burglar Wednesday, April 9. At approximately 1:25 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Lemoore address on Idaho Ave. for a report of a burglary in progress.

The victim in this case reported that upon coming home to his residence, he found an unknown subject inside his home holding some of his personal belongings. The suspect, upon being confronted by the home owner, took off running and fled on foot through an alfalfa field.

Deputies arrived on scene and with the help of Fresno County Sheriff's Office air unit, were able to establish a perimeter and conduct an extensive search of the area, to include tracking foot prints with a canine unit.

During the initial search, deputies were unable to locate the suspect, however several items of evidence were recovered during the search that eventually lead deputies to the suspect.

Within two hours of the initial call for service, Kings County deputies were able to arrest the lone suspect in this case, Trevor Mitchell, 24, for burglary.
