There was plenty of exciting high school basketball play as male and female basketball players from throughout the Central Valley converged in Lemoore at the West Hills College Golden Eagle Arena for an evening of basketball called the Central Valley North vs. South Senior All Star Game.

The highlight of the evening had to be the North-South contest pitting the best boys in the Valley on the same court. When it was all said and done the South Team, beat the North squad in a thriller 116-115. Lemoore High School’s C.J. Johnson played for the North team under former Tiger Coach T.J. Wilkens, now coaching at Central Section Champion Edison High School.

In the girls’ contest, which began at 5 p.m. a pair of Lemoore girls played, but on opposite teams. Kody Steen saw action for the South team while Tiger star Kiesha Loftin played for the North squad. Loftin didn’t play, having injured herself in the previous night’s Kiwanis Track and Field Invitational.

The final score of the girls’ game was somewhat lopsided with the North beating the South 77-47.
