The Lemoore Police Department will host the Kings County Peace Officer’s Memorial to be held Thursday, May 15 at the at the Kings County Government Center’s Courtyard, located at 1400 W. Lacey Blvd. in Hanford. The ceremony, honoring all of Kings County’s fallen peace officers, will begin promptly at 3:15 p.m.
Lemoore Chief of Police Darrell Smith will make welcoming remarks. Both Assemblyman Rudy Salas and Senator Andy Vidak will offer remarks as well as police chiefs from all the communities in Kings County.
In addition to Kings County’s fallen heroes, remembrances will be made to those peace officers throughout California who died in 2013.
Kings County’s Peace Officer’s Memorial will include Solomon Gladden, 1893; Constable Bird, 1895; Dean Esquibel, CHP, 1985; William Lehn, Fresno PD, 1994, James Rapozo, Kings County Sheriffs, Hanford PD, Visalia PD, 1998, and Allan Sharra, Kings County Sheriffs.
