Lemoore and Navy to put on another show as residents celebrate July 4th

The annual City of Lemoore July 4th Celebration, sponsored by Kings County Behavioral Health, has announced a schedule of events for Friday’s national holiday in the Lemoore City Park. The day will begin with the annual 5k Run and 3K Walk at 7 a.m.  Participants must register by June 21 in order to receive a free T-shirt.  The cost to enter the walk/run is $20 for runners and $15 for walkers.

A $5 late fee will be charged after June 21st.  Day of registrations begin at 6:00 am.  This year will be the first year for a Kid’s Fun Run which will begin at 8:00 am.  The first 50 children to register are free.  After that, the cost is $15 per child.  All participants receive a T-shirt and medal.

A Co-ed Volleyball Tournament will begin at 9:30, the cost to enter is $60 per team.  Please register by June 28th.   

Opening Ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. featuring keynote speaker Assembly Member Rudy Salas and soloist, Rebecca Reynolds.  Hypnotist and Comedian Alan Sands will perform a 90 minute free show beginning at 9:30 am.  Come out and enjoy this hysterical performance before the heat kicks in.

Lemoore Recreation Stars including cheerleading, ballerinas and boxers will wow you with their talents at 11:15.  Roadhouse will perform live music at 12:30 pm.

There are water slides and bounce houses for the kids, $2 for 15 minutes or $10 all day wristbands. There will be plenty of food vendors and plenty of fun.  For more information call 924-6767.
