Tigers will headline 47th annual Tulare-Kings All Star Football Game July 25 at Mathias Stadium

Lemoore High School’s all-time leading rusher, Richard Doctor, has been chosen to play in the 47th annual Tulare-Kings All-Star football game, set for Friday, July 25, at Tulare’s Bob Mathias Stadium. Game time is 8:00 p.m. and, in addition to Doctor, the game will feature the best recent high school graduate football players in the south valley.

Joining Doctor on the team are four more Tigers who excelled this past year in football, including wide receiver Trenton McGuey, fullback RaShaun Davis, and linemen Kameron Gomness and Adrian Garza.

This year the sponsor is the Lemoore Kiwanis Club, which has been involved in the game since its inception in 1967. Coaches for the West team will be Tulare Western head coach Brian Rocha and his staff. 

Tulare Western completed the 2013 season with a 7-4 record and finished second in its league. The East team is coached by Porterville head coach Carl Scudder and his staff. Porterville ended the 2013 season with a 9-3 record and finished third in league behind Mission Oak and Tulare Western.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.  Tickets can be purchased at the gate or at the following outlets:  Lemoore Hardware, Time Out Amusement Park in Tulare, or Midtown Sports in Visalia. Lemoore’s 2013 season ended with a second-round loss to Kingsburg High School and finished the season at 7-5.

Doctor, who rushed for a record 2,504 yards as a senior and scored 32 touchdowns for his Tiger team will take his considerable talents to Humboldt State in the fall where he will play football for the Lumberjacks.
