The Assembly this week unanimously approved Assembly Bill (AB) 2861, legislation to increase access for substance abuse disorder treatment in underserved communities. The bill, authored by Assembly’s Rudy Salas, AB 2861 would allow Medi-Cal reimbursement for certified substance use disorder counselors that provide therapy via telehealth to those suffering from addiction.
