A Lemoore man was arrested by police officers on January 9 on suspicion of holding a victim against her will in a home bedroom. James Ramirez, 40, was also charged with domestic violence, false imprisonment, kidnapping and obstructing or delaying a police officer.

It was about 11:30 p.m. when Lemoore police officers were dispatched to a residence on W. Deodar Ln. for a report of a male and a female fighting in front of a residence.

Officers arrived at the residence within minutes and learned from witnesses that the male was seen placing his hand over the female's mouth to keep her from screaming. The male was then seen dragging the female into the residence.

Officers made several announcements into the residence requesting the occupants inside to open the door so that they could check the welfare of everyone involved. Officers also found phone numbers for the occupants and phone calls were made.

No one answered the door or the telephone. Officers forced their way into the residence and discovered that James Ramirez was holding a confidential victim against her will in one of the bedrooms of the house and was placed under arrest.
