Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino recently hosted its November community breakfast where Tachi Palace general manager Willie Barrios presented a $5,000 check to the United States Marine Staff Sargent Carrington for Toys for Tots, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas.

More than 360 people attended and raised a total of $1,975 at the door of the breakfast, and Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino. The Santa Rosa Rancheria Tribe matched and rounded the amount for a total of $5,000. In addition, 50 new toys also were donated to the Toys for Tots program.

“This is the season of giving and we can’t think of a more appropriate organization to benefit from the November community breakfast than Toys for Tots,” said Barrios. “To ensure that every child has a new toy for Christmas is priceless. We thank all the community members for joining us in our support of this amazing organization.”

Barrios announced that the new gas station an 8,000-square foot convenience store and smoke shop on the corner of 17th Avenue and Jersey Avenue recently opened for business.

The next community breakfast will be held Friday, December 15, and will benefit Valley Animal Haven of Lemoore. Attendees are encouraged to donate a minimum of $5 to attend the breakfast.
