A holiday tradition continued on Saturday as, once again, as it has for 104 years, Lemoore’s dependable Volunteer Fire Department raised a majestic Christmas tree in the downtown area to c

elebrate the holiday.

It has been well over a century that the local volunteers have provided Lemoore’s citizens with a holiday tree delivered directly to the downtown intersection that has served as the tree’s home for many years.

And, as usual, there were plenty of volunteer firemen and spectators on hand as the local department deftly raised the tree, signaling the holiday season. Spectators were also treated to a Downtown Stroll.

It was also raised just in time for Lemoore’s annual Christmas Parade, scheduled for Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. in the downtown area of Lemoore. The Lemoore District Chamber of Commerce hosts the parade.

For those who intend to participate in the parade, entry forms and vendor applications are available at the local Chamber, located at 212 W. D Street, Lemoore.
