Annual Tachi Palace Casino Resort Charity Golf Tournament raises over $50,000 for pair of local agencies
More than 150 golfers participated in the tournament held at the Kings Country Club in Hanford. The fun-filled day included breakfast, lunch, awards, and raffles, along with on-the-course challenges such as closest to the pin, longest drive, and guess the distance. Plus, there was a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Keller Motors of Hanford. Golfers also had the opportunity to take pictures with Tachi Palace’s “Ambassador of Fun,” Richie Gamblé.
The Kings County Commission on Aging Council (KCCOAC) strives to maintain and improve the physical, psychological, and social wellness of individuals aged 60 or older in the Kings County areas, in particular the isolated, lonely, and frail.
“I would like to acknowledge and thank Tachi Palace for their generous contribution and support,” said Bobbie Watson, Executive Director of KCCOAC. “We are currently serving over 18,000 meals to seniors in need, which is about $75,000 per month. With the support from Tachi Palace and the support of our community, we are hoping to sustain the success of our services.”
The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need, and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.
“It was a nice day that the community came together showing support and raising funds for our local nonprofits,” said Aimee Dexheimer, Director of Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. “We are thankful for the support. This donation will help us continue to provide our programs and services for Sea Service families.”
