It’s that time of year again when a slight chill in the air and the holiday spirit begins anew in Lemoore. One of the sure-tell signs of this is when the Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department, taking a well-earned break from its normal duties, delivers a fresh Christmas tree to Lemoore’s downtown, the department’s annual contribution to the spirit of Christmas.
Once again, local firefighters braved the chilly mountain air the day before as it found just the right tree for the occasion. And over the course of 100 years, the volunteers have always delivered the right tree.
The tree will remain standing for about a month for local pedestrians to enjoy, and it will stay for the Lemoore Christmas parade, scheduled for December 4 in the downtown area at 6 p.m. The local chamber of commerce is still accepting entries for the annual parade.
