Lemoore Rotarian President Jesus Garcia presents Lemoore City Manager Andi Welsh with a library book to sign during a regular meeting Tuesday. The high point of the visit – for both Rotary and the city – was the presentation of a check when she was given a check as the final payment in the Rotary-sponsored community Arbor project on historic F Street.

The Arbor, used for events ranging from a farmers’ market site to Friday night dances, was paid for in five annual payments.

Tuesday’s payment marked the close of the commitment by the club in sponsoring several public works projects stretching from Fox Street at the San Joaquin Railway crossing Skateboard Park along the full block ending at the Arbor. The check, written by Rotary treasurer Natalie Siegel, was for $2,027.

Welch thanked Rotary and noted how groups help the city facilitate improvements in services by saying, “We appreciate all that Rotary does for our community!”

The library book, signed by the club’s guest, is donated to one of Lemoore’s elementary school libraries when a Rotary member reads to 3rd graders in the on-going literary program.
