The Lemoore Chamber of Commerce announced Monday (June 12) that Amy Ward, currently a member of the chamber’s board of directors, has stepped up to serve as interim CEO.

Ward will take over the reins from Jenny MacMurdo, the chamber’s executive director for the past three years. She accepted a similar position at the Carmel Chamber of Commerce, and Wednesday (June 14) is her last day in Lemoore.

Ward, a board member since 2015, comes to the position with a wealth of experience. She served as Lincoln Military Housing’s Community Services Director for 10 years, and prior to that she worked with the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society in Temecula.

She came to Lemoore 14 years ago when her Navy husband Jason (retired) transferred to Lemoore. The couple has three children, son Niko, and daughters Kylie and Jaylin.  “I’ve been here for about 14 years,” she said. “We’re a military relocation.”

She’s enjoyed her time on the board of directors. “I love everything the board stands for,” she said. “This is a real great opportunity … to be a part of this great community.”

Since joining the Chamber board, she has volunteered numerous hours at Chamber events, served on a number of committees as well as the executive committee. Recently, she served as the third-term Young Entrepreneurs Academy teacher, and spearheaded the Kings Young Professionals Network (KYPS) to begin creating opportunities for young professionals to meet, obtain training, and work on community service projects in the community.

Amy begins her job as the Interim effective immediately, to keep the Lemoore Chamber running smoothly through their transition.
