Lemoore’s varsity boys’ water polo team improved its West Yosemite League record to 3-3 with a relatively easy victory over Hanford West Thursday in the Tiger pool. In that contest the Tigers, led by Jacob Duncil and Kirby Toomey, with four goals each, took a quick 9-2 halftime lead before closing it out in the final two periods for a 15-3 victory. Lemoore’s varsity football team got a good jump on Friday’s Homecoming game against Mt. Whitney with a 57-31 West Yosemite League win against Golden West in Visalia. Once again, senior tailback Richard Doctor led the charge with six touchdowns and 309 yards rushing as Lemoore broke open what had been a close first half contest into somewhat of a rout in the second half. Lemoore's junior varsity Tigers football squad scored 54 points and limited the host Monache Marauders to 0 in the Tigers non-league win on Friday. Combined with the varsity's 47 points, Lemoore's two teams outscored Monache 101-0. The Tigers, now 1-0, play next when they travel to Clovis for a non-league battle on Friday, September 6.
