Lemoore’s Michael Burke put on quite a show at the Golden West Invitational on March 22. The talented trickster won three events and was named the track meet’s top athlete. Burke took top honors in the high jump and triple jump in the varsity division while also finishing eighth in the pole vault while leading his Tiger track team to a third place overall team finish. Lemoore has had a long history of doing well in the high school pole vault. At the recent Pioneer Relays, held March 15 at Golden West High School, Lemoore’s Tyson Pereira continued the tradition with a first-place finish in the vault, as he easily won in the finals with a vault of 13-8 to easily get past Golden West’s David Malstrom. The Tigers won their fourth non-league contest in a row, easily getting past Fowler High School Friday afternoon twice, both times by the same score of 8-4. Lemoore High School Wrestling Coach Marcio Botelho had a big smile on his face this past weekend when he heard that one of Lemoore’s youth wrestling teams took top honors at a Valley wrestling meet for elementary age students.
