Lemoore’s varsity boys’ soccer team had its hands full with a visiting Lompoc team Tuesday night in Tigers Stadium. The Tigers, a playoff entrant that went 10-12 overall and 5-5 in the West Yosemite League, fell 3-0 to the visiting Lompoc Braves Tuesday night in Tiger Stadium. All three of Lompoc’s goals came in the second half of Tuesday’s Division IV tournament game. The Braves get a second-round game closer to home when they take on 11th-ranked Santa Ynez on the coast. Lemoore High School’s varsity volleyball team, led by the West Yosemite League Most Valuable Player Liz Schalde, the Tigers’ senior setter, completed an impressive 22-7 campaign, including an 8-2 mark in league play. Lemoore’s talented team dropped a pair of games in league play, a regular-season loss to Hanford, and a 3-2 loss to Dinuba High School. Kings Christian’s Allison Azevedo (class of 2023) earned a spot on the Fresno Bee Volleyball Fabulous 40 for the Central Valley. She was also the East Sequoia League’s MVP leading Kings Christian to a 14-8 record last season, finishing at 8-0 record in the East Sierra League.
