The Lemoore Golf Course and Kings Lions Club recently held their Old Farts Tournament at the local course and watched as 80 golfers over the age of 60 participated in the May 26 event. The tourney was a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and the format a two-person scramble with no handicaps. Included in the 80 golfers who participated were 22 veterans and five players over 80 years old. West Hills College Lemoore’s Alejandra Fernandez this week was named California’s Central Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete. Fernandez is a Corcoran High School graduate. Fernandez will advance for consideration as the State Scholar-Athlete Recipient. The talented WHCL student is talented on and off the court.
