The fact of the matter is the group of four cadets – Jacky Domingo, Aaron Dorfmeier, Daimian Guzman and Thomas Snell - left Lemoore Thursday for the crisp, clean air of Provo, Utah to compete in 2016 NJROTC Regional Air Rifle Competition, a contest that took the entire weekend. It's official. Thanks to the Tigers' 85-55 victory over Golden West Friday night, Lemoore's talented basketballers are the sole owners of the West Yosemite League championship. While the Tigers certainly want to beat Hanford against Tuesday night in the Lemoore Event Center, it won't matter in the long run, because there is no way the Bullpups can win the title. And on Thursday night in Visalia it did it once again as Redwood High School edged Lemoore High for the West Yosemite League crown, despite Lemoore getting championship performances from several Tiger wrestlers. Lemoore’s girls’ soccer team is ranked 6th in the Division II playoffs and will open its postseason play at home against Tulare High School. Tulare Union is rated 11th in the playoffs. Lemoore finished its season on Thursday by tying Hanford 0-0 after overtime. Keep reading...
Despite a loss earlier this season to Redwood High School in a dual match, Lemoore’s varsity wrestling program thinks it may again have the necessary tools to capture its second West Yosemite League title in a row and its 21st title in the past 22 years. According to a story in the Fresno Fee, one of Lemoore’s most successful coaches is calling it quits after school officials placed him on administrative leave following a “hazing” incident prior to the team’s Division II title game against Ridgeview High School last season. Keep reading...
Lemoore’s varsity basketball team continued its march to another West Yosemite League championship when it won two more games this past week, a 74-71 win over Redwood and then on Friday an easy 86-40 victory over Mt. Whitney in Visalia. On another note, Hanford West made Lemoore's job of capturing another WYL championship a bit easier by beating Hanford Friday night 68-65. The Tigers now have a 2-game lead over Hanford in the standings with 3 contests remaining in the league campaign. Keep reading...
Lemoore’s two high schools finished No. 1 and No. 2 in the Kings County Academic Decathlon, the conclusion of which was held Saturday afternoon in the Lemoore High School cafeteria.
