Lemoore's boys' and girls' basketball teams continued their march to the playoffs with a pair of wins Thursday night. In Visalia, the boys turned on the afterburners to beat El Diamante 74-56 to improve to 15-2 and 4-0 in the WYL. A horrific showing against Bullard High School in the opening round of the Clovis Elks Tournament took Lemoore’s varsity boys’ basketball team out of the running for the tourney title. Despite the surprising 103-74 loss to the Knights on Dec. 26, Lemoore easily won its next three games to finished 7th in the massive tournament, completing the week with a 70-57 win over Madera. Lemoore's boys' basketball team rebounded from its first loss Thursday with a lambasting of hapless Hoover High School and then thrashing Sunnyside in the Holiday Invitational Tournament. The Tigers used 23 points from Jaylunn English, 13 from Reggie Davis and Matt Borba's 10 points to crush the Patriots 77-40 and improve their overall record to 7-1.
